Instead of outer glow on the render, dupe the original render then put a gaussian blur on the duped one
then bring the brightness of the blurred/duped layer to just black, then lower that layer under the original render and move the shadow layer right and down abit so it looks like the render is casting a shadow.

or you can just leave the shadow as it is and not move it right then down.
