Extra CPU usage Part 2

Sry open another topic.... but since drake locked the topic b4 even 1 reply mine.....


it didnt solve the problem.... even with the option selected and both or even 1 l2 window opened it still keeping the pc on 100% cpu usage....

I would like to know if others ppl with hardware higher then are having this issue too... Since I remember b4 updates it wasnt like that.

after using this option its all fine here, i do have some random fps-drops which i havent before update, but im pretty sure its problem on my-side ;p

Did you press Apply after marking low cpu?

Well I've noticed the extra cpu usage aswell, my pc even shut down yesterday coz of overheating and that never happened before :b And when I port to giran I get this small freeze for 2-3 seconds before I can do anything, that also never happened before tbh

Run prime 95 stress test on your PC. That loads it more then unlimited amouth of L2. If it starts throttling down or shutting down, you have a HW problem there (most likely with cooling), do not blame a game for that.

Any not-overlocked PC that would overheat from any kind of use has a serious problem that need to be taken care off. Then fact that L2 by default uses single thread and till now it could handle this partial-to-low load does not mean the Pc was ok till now.

Or the fact that it's also positioned close to a wall and in a really cramped space around it causing bad ventilation. It's something I already knew about so no, it's not a HW issue. The point was that the CPU usage clearly is alot higher than before, I havent tried the low CPU option yet though.

With LOW CPU option activated the engine is same of before, there have been done some tweakings in client-server protocol to reduce crashiness from many of the reports we got but that's it.

The only thing that can overload a CPU while in multitasking is the current hardcoded "dont sleep the application when in background" that makes alt+tab much faster and the game never choppy (GF+ style)
BUT this can be reverted back to old IL style by simply enabling the LOW CPU setting.
After that, is 100% as before except the protocol changes (that have no impact on CPU)
