It was fixed bcos on oly stacksubbed chars was undefeated bcos of mana burn. on valky we have retail oly so I dont see any other way to win fight then burn oponent...

Our "beloved" topic writer, wrote it with caps lock and really looks like he's crying ... yeah it's not working as it should, cooldown is huge and the amount of mp it sucks down is really low.

Before that fix, mana burn in DN was stronger than official (coz of wrong modifier in formula for mana damage). And also that ain't a good reason to make a skill useless.
Max mp affects to mana damage (more max mp, more damage. lesser max mp, lesser mana damage.) so it's not that hard to find a balance.
Well I think the problem is , if we fix mana burn for healers ...oly is going to be good for them .Issue starts when we come to stack sub , when a healer can max out and have only 1.5k matk or so , a Mage like screamer is gonna have 6-7k matk easily , if it's gonna be the same amount of drain like a healer does , SH/se will drain full mana in 1-2 burns .solution maybe block the skill for healers/buffers who go /Mage. I don't know any other solution ;D , so if anyone thinks of something good please post it .
Hmm just thought of another solution , maybe we can cap the maximum amount mana burned ? I don't know if all this is possible , just giving out logistics .
When a storm screamer can have 7k m.atk, even a non-subbed eva's saint can have 3k m.atk with same equip/buffs.
And calculation of magic damage is a bit different from physical. To deal x2 damage, you need x4 m.atk (if you have x2 m.atk, you make approx x1.4 damage). So a storm screamer/ss with 7k m.atk hits around x1.5 harder than a simple eva's saint with 3k m.atk
BUT with approx x0.8 casting speed. (20% higher DPS but with +35% mp consumption)
After all, if a class would be doing proper magic damage, everything should be ok with other classes as well.

This formula is approximate for mana damage to player character.
Skill power*SQRT(M.atk*SpS bonus)*Max MP/M.Def/310(*PvP damage bonus?) = Mana damage
- S.power and M.atk are caster's. Max MP and M.Def are target's.
- SpS bonus is x4 with b-sps, x2 with normal sps, x1 with no sps.
- 310 is mana damage modifier that I set to fit to actual mana damage on valkyria. In official, it's 97.
70% less damage than official ;D

Mana Burn works slightly different from now on, land rate had increased but the value of mana burnt has changed from a set value to a percentage value based on your remaining MP.

Just checked mana damage now (17:20 gmt+1) and it's working exactly same like before but

actualy its is nonsence... it shouldnt be % from remaining mana but from max mana. because this way you cant burn someone "dry" which is main oly strategy for all mana burners.
just example:
if you set 5% burn from remaining mana and at begining opponent have 2k, what will happen?
you will burn for: 100 - 95 - 90,5 - 85,725 - lower - lower - lower - so at end when opponent will have about 200 mana you will burn for 10mp.
so again. manaburn sux...
chars with lower mana cost for skill will live easy only on mana regen. (at least at oly)
hmmm... actually, it says it's based on YOUR remaining mana, not your TARGET's remaining mana.
of course, these guys don't have the greatest command of English, so who knows WHAT they were TRYING to say...
I thought damage reduction rate(atm, it's approx -70% from official) was reduced and a percentage value of the target's remaining mp applied to the damage. (f.e. at full mp, full damage. at half mp, half damage)
I checked both case changing remaining MP on caster and target but it had nothing with the mana damage.
