I read that problem with MMO games is that textures are loading from hard drive and not from memory drive, thats why MMO`s are getting lagged on massive population. Im not sure if that is true, im just saying what i read.  ;D
Ruddi -> SH/SK
DonDie -> BI/WC
Gemik -> SH/SE

SSD are much better then HDD, but the prices and capacitity of the current SSD's are ridicilous.... Better buy 1TB harddrive then 60GB solid state drive

infact, buy 2 same 1TB harddrives, and put them in RAID0

SSD is the best what you can get on the market for the moment, but my advise is to wait like 4months more +/- price drop will be huge for the moment you pay basically 1,5e-1gb which is insane ! So my advise is wait with SSD drive for now.

Meanwhile check out Seagate Momentus XT  , its something like BEST BUY for the moment price/specs vise. If you wanna check some review start from here etc... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kss98VdhSj0
Small hint, Momentus XT (32mb cache ofc) have a memory sectors on its surface so more often you actually use some sectors of HDD (example l2) it will work faster and faster.

Also the Crucial C400 should be coming out soon!(February) 415mb/s read, 95-260mb/s write

So the price should drop (i hope xD)... Anyways i was just thinking about getting a 64GB SSD and just use it for installing windows, some programs and some games on it. Everything else can still be on the HDD.

The Momentus XT that Track suggested looks pretty interesting too  :)

you will notice a huge benefit from playing lineage off an ssd drive.
<2 secs loading times in between towns, no more "micro lags" as content gets loaded while you walk around. you will not want to go without one once you ve experienced it. sandforce chipset powered drives are definitely a good buy for gamers.
however ssds tend to degenerate as time goes by, means loose performance the more you move and delete files around. new drives support the trim feature to overcome this issue. this however does not work with drives which use an internal raid-0 to additionally boost throughput. so make sure to check about your desired drive´s specifications.
if an ssd seems to expensive for you or you wish a steady, fast drive which remains at top performance while you swap around lots of data everyday, a wd (veloci)raptor is a good alternative. raptors do the trick as well for lineage. :)

btw you can also increase l2s internal cache (means less reloading given you have enough ram) through editiing l2.ini (experienced users only).
