I am not certain about you, but I play on NM, I am pretty active and I still see plenty of gladiators. Just because they don't rule at mass pvps it doesn't mean they are extincted. Afterall, this game is not only mass pvp.

With all those anti-arrow resists P.Def now means nothing. Or at least it is less important as it was before. I sincerely doubt you can get 5k crit into Deflect Arrows lvl 4.

It is not that dramatic as you are saying.. Archers are dominant, but they were dominant throughout most chronicles, it is nothing new.
About the P.Def problem.. of course it is important factor, but even with lower p.def you can still reduce Archer's damage by CoP, Song of Windstorm and deflect arrows to overhealable amount. Not to mention Shield of Faith... I had powerful archer, yet I was critting mages for 300 or so.
And one more thingy! Icarus bow attack speed is slow, just its reuse is much faster.

yet there are no preotection buffs against Destroyers, except for Chant of Protection. Now guess what, there are 3 new buffs which lowers the archer's damage. CoP, Song of Windstorm and 1 dance from BD. Plus the old Deflect arrows. Those 3 combined are lowering Archer's damage to the minimal amount, no matter what is their p.atk. Is there something similar against gladiators? Like 'Deflect Forces', or 'Song of Anti Gladiators'? Of course there is not.

Specially glad/pal is really usefull to play (specially in 1 vs 1) but in mass pvp it's pretty cool aswell.
Tbh without counting tyr/destr or tyr/pal, paladin is able to do most dmg on any tank/mage combo. Why? archers are used to be known as most dmg dealing chars, but chant of protection and arrow resistance songs kinda screw them. The funny thing about CoP is that glads do NOT get effected by that skill, since sonic's 'critical hits' (wich is actually double damage) simply don't suffer by it.
A glad focussed on p atk does more dmg then anything other then frenzy/zealot/ai chars.
And about mass situations, don't forget ya got sonic storm and buster (i love buster), for example sonic buster has like no re-use on certain buffs (cost lots of mp tho), and dmg maybe the dmg aint that tight as with sonic blaster but still i used to make like 1,5k dmg crits with sonic buster on mass pvp's. It aint something to get allot of pvp's with, but u sure help allot by doing dmg + it's a mass attack, a mass attack that does that kind of damage is pretty cool imo :O.
And about getting killed by archers with 5 hits or smth? BS, if u take care of kewl buffs, there aint any archer on the server that will crit you more then 1k dmg.
This server is just about mages and archers. Dunno why ic bow has like bonus atk.speed. Rly fair. And how much gladiators in good equip u see on nm? Last time I see just NEWBLOODKILLER, japie, AlderiusCZ, sometimes IvennO and some time and AnjoThall.... who else? All who had gladiator left this class and started make new char. Why? Cuz archers and mages are powa now. I thought that this game is about choose... u can choose some char. But u can't. If u want play on NM, u must make mage or archer...

glad at the moment is one of the weakest chars of the network and i can just laught when i read trackzero's post where he says they want make dagger "wanted" again....or our admins went crazy or this network is really managed by people who have 0 knowledge about the game....btw i can say that the situation about glads,tyrants,warlords....is the same here and on dragon (where i play) so it's not a coincidence....in fact i suggested to remove those classes from the choice of the class at the end of the second class quest ;D....at least they'll rest in peace without be nerfed every day......about Glad/pa,Glad/he....well people don't tell me they have something in common with glad :P

I am certain you didn't get my post concerning so called 'Song of anti gladiators'. It is not an option (and I am sure Track knows that) to add custom skill that would kill any of L2 classes.
There are
no resists against Gladiators skills, not even CoP diminishes the strength of Gladiators attacks. And guess what? It lowers damage from Archers, Daggers and rest of fighter classes who are able to make critical hits (I am not sure about Tyrants). Plus - you got 3 more resists made
especially to lower archer's damage. Yes, I agree, archers are dominant mass pvp class once again (they always were anyway), but you got way more resists against their attacks. And yet you are still complaining. It is just unbelievable.
And one more thing just for fun. Don't be so sad that gladiators are extincting. You may be the only one Gladiator left, hence the permanent GL/whatever hero!

When Track write want to make dagger WANTED... i had think that this is not the realy problem on DN server...cuz there are a lot of TH and the way to play them is everytime the only way that y can use ----> LETHAL...so what's the evolution of this char???
The realy problem of DN are gladiator and many ppl think the same... on nightmare 5-6 ppl max play on duelist...
im from Arena server. I have glad/tyrant and i like it. Mages that has no transfer pain or overlord sub (high pdef), plus warriors (or archers) in light armor (without paladin sub), i do eat them for breakfast with my glad / tyrant :) Boom(F1) + Boom(F2) + Sonic Boom(F3) = Mission accomplished :P
If enemy has strong pdef, use Bison + your dual weapon... when your Bison kicks in (high Crits) when u reach 30% hp, use 'Force Barrier" and push the Force focus back to level 8, he/she will be dead.
Use rabbit totem against archer and Ogre against mages or other melee fighters.
If u want, u can switch to fist for Tyrant + final fortress(glad skills) + war cry (glad skills), it rocks.
For me i use both fist + dual weapon. Triple sonic (dual) + Hurricane (fist) = Damage dealer.
Try it and u will like it :)
oh yes, MAX your +STR with dyes and armor. BW heavy gives most +STR, though it look noob to wear BW armor, but against mage, its good, for others, u can use IC heavy set.
Glads are ok class, what most people do is overlook the potential sub combo that make them stronger or one of the strongest? combo on the server. I'm talking about damage output. I played a glad myself and hardly come across a problem to catch up with my enemy or running away.
For those who lol @ glad/archer pm me on yoda ig (when the server comes up) and I'll 'gladly' show u they are not as weak as u think and actually they can put up a good fight with right buffs ofc.

Yes, they do overlook the potential of sub combos. The thing i like about DN servers = u can try out many different mutants combo. Try some new mutants and dont always copy what other players have created, they could be only 10 years old kid. Check out each and every armor/skills/weapon with different bonuses, and dont underestimate lower grade armors/weapons. L2 is about exploring new things/events/situation

GL r still good classes to play, but like all classes u need to know when it's fine to play and when it's not.
Play GL for pvp on Varka against archers will be insane cause they will run from u easy and kill u fast, since u need to be near then to give some nice damage, but if u pvp on Baium or Antharas (for example) they can't run much from you.
Also like Ashlynn said, now we have too many resists against archers (Deflect Arrow, Song of WindStorm and Dance of BladeStorm), also the Chant of Protection. But no buffs that could prevent damage from duals.
Most people that still plays GL/PP r old players or those who made this class when GL was OP on oly. But now we can find some new GL combos, like archers/GL.

Im playing glad/pal and its more like playing paladin, with skills from glad. Cuz u can get similar dmg output with sword and biger def then playing with duals imho.

I only told about new options as GL subclass. Read other part of post and i hope u get my idea...
I also told about places to pvp like Varkas that's almost impossible for a GL as DD to win a pvp, but there's other places that a GL can make a good job.
Also u must remember if u can't kill the archer u should try to kill the healer.

I know that all protest here, cuz I protest against archers (70% of NM are archers). This is no fun if u see on NM just archer or mby sometime some mage. 1) You don't have to have fistful of boxes, because as you might noticed, we are playing MMORPG and basis of MMORPG is cooperative game. And for this matter we have support classes. We have even stacking subclasses so mixing support/DD char is even lesser problem.
2) In case of problems while reaching an archer you have Sonic Move. Not to mention you have to be able to switch various sets of tattoos in order to be able to reach running target. I'll quote Furesy: 'Archer's range is bugged in Hellbound'. Where bugged = shorter.
I played HE/Glad a lot. I am not playing it anymore (because my precious toxii will be banned when servers will be up, I suppose), but I was using dual swords a lot. You want to know why? Because of all those anti-archer resists. None of them applies for Gladiator skills, so killing tanks were much more effective with duals than with bow.
As far as your imaginary duel between Archer and Gladiator is concerned... You can't say that n00b archer will win in every case. You have to take into the consideration, that stacking subclasses are changing a lot of aspects. Basically, every archer will suffer a lot while fighting Glad/tank. On the other hand, most of archers will defeat Glad/non-tank easily just due to kiting.
Orange part: Weird, few posts before there were 90% of archers on NM. I wonder why and how it changed when servers were down... ???

Orange part: Do you know, what kind of resist tanks have? Yes, it is Deflect Arrow. Do they have resist against dual swords? No, they don't. That's why I used duals, and that is also the way how to deal with tanks as a GL/HE.
Green part: Enlighten me.. Why I lose HP/CP while having dual swords equipped? As far as I know, +4 Tal*Dle is boosting your CP by some amount. So where do I lose them? ...
Pink part: It might be a bit of a surprise for you, but yes, healers are really first one attacked. You aren't really pvp type of player, are you?
Yellow part: Sweetheart, were you ever in some mass pvp? Of course you have fullbuffs while being at mass pvp. For small pvp's you are just fine with pp/bd buffs (at least I always was, without suffering a lot).
Beige part: No, you are wrong again. Dash lasts for 15 seconds, if you are lucky then for 30, but it is rare.
Teal part: You are slow dumbass then, I was able to kite mages with blizzard and ice vortex on me :)
Lime part: Yes, that's exactly what I am trying to say whole time. You are stupid.
glads and tyrants atm are done to kill spoilers and crafters....the whole economy is in their hands!!!! :o

1) Ever heard about Shackle? or AI+Sonic Move? I might not lose any CP, but I won't make any reasonable damage with bow to Deflect Arrows, since we are talking about GL/Pal.

Err...Rabbit is not meant to be used to fight. It is used to chase the archer, cast the 'slow' buff on him and then u change to other totem to finish him off. Did u play tyrant before?

Both of you must make it clear whether you both are talking about:
a) Mutant vs non-mutant or
b) Non-mutant vs non-mutant
If you are non-mutant, you have no chance to reach 339 speed.

glad/pp is good in Oly only coz it can self-buff. In pvp or siege, glad/pal, glad/sws, glad/ty are better.

Oh don't worry, I had +5 STR. On the screenshot I have +4 DEX just because I had top speed setup.

the only diferents are a little reuse time incres for some skills and wasting charges for sonik move and some other small things
