Title: What About Spawn Protection?
Post by: skitz1312 on February 14, 2014, 12:58:18 PM
So... what about it? Why it isn't implemented? It's stupid dying from enemy while still there is black screen on the monitor....

It is about tatics...
Spawn kill exists since L2 was created and the protection was never implemented on retail. If you get Spawn kill, port far with a pt and get them from behind...

If something is retail doesn't mean that's good... Moreover everything in newer chronicles=crap.

Just because you dont like it, doesnt means it is bad.

Spawn protection makes game easier, because you dont have to think what to do or create some tactic, you just port and that's it.

I vote no for spam protection or maybe 15-30 sec because of ppl with slow PCs

There is none with slow PC for Interlude.

I think we could have 15 secs of spawn protection.

Heh, its about HDD speed and pretty much nothing more. So people with SSD load fast,t hose with HDD load still pretty much the same cause HDD's really did not made much progress in access times.

But anyway, if some spawn protection (I do not support it), then make it balanced. The one we got implemented back in C4 was bad, cause it was infinite before you move. Thus the ones spwaning actually had advantage. We won pretty much any pvp if someone was spawncamping, cause you port duded there all in to single place, enemy could not target them or see how many are, and then you all move just like 1CM and suddenly you open fire on already predefined targets and its all freaked up. So not this kind of protection pls. I don't support any cause I don't imagine any that would prevent stacking players on one place.

Btw limited spawn protection like 30 secs or so might be a good option.

Any GM can tell us if Yes or Not?

I think it will be 'no', because if it was their intention, it would be already working..

This matter is under discussion but my personal opinion is to keep it more realistic... so to keep it without spawn protection.

Yeah, it would be pretty much realistic to just, i.e. stand there on the road while watching a car with 120 km/h heading right straight at you and you just do nothing, pretty much realistic.. I'm with slow PC and I vote for YES, because I know the struggle! Don't make it 1-2 minutes, like 15s will do it in my opinion.

No. I see a way to abuse it for stacking a tons of people. I can port whole alliance in 15 seconds and abuse the protection and the fact that all well be stacked cause you cannot target properly. Just no. It is camped? Run the other way.

It it will exist I'm gonna abuse it, simple as that. Not to even mention that people with return/bsoe can avoid deaths completely. Just see, ha, enemies there, bye bye guys, no punishment that I was stupid and ported in middle of enemy crowd? Really? Thats what you want? No!

In this case ill just port PP buffpet first to see what is there and return if hostility... like... its not good idea.

No spawn protection, too much abusable (as you guys pointed out already).
If you get spawnkilled means that spawn point is not safe for you and probably your enemies are controlling that area.
Spawnkilling is a valid strategy of territory control and if someone is using it is fully allowed.

BUT, you can also easily avoid it by... (suprise!) using a different spawn (and various locations offers different spawns from different teleporters, clanhall, castle and nobless teleports. And if you are so unlucky you dont have this option then... walk (or strider))

Then just regroup with your party/clan/ally and go get back the spawnpoint! Aint an amazing reason for some PvP? :D
